February brings in the Chinese Year of the Sheep (or Goat, if you prefer) and with February 19th marking the pinnacle of the 16-day festival, there's good reason to buy wine online ahead of the big day itself.

Interestingly, this could tie in with your own New Year's Resolutions you may have been trying to stick to ever since January 1st - in a rather unusual way.

Many people plan to 'drink less' each New Year, but that could be a red herring - instead, a focus on drinking 'healthily' could be the solution to long-term health and happiness.

Industry analysts at Wine Intelligence point out that in China, the number one reason for importing red wine from abroad is for its positive health impact.

"A glass of red wine before bed is linked to beautiful skin and other health miracles - in fact, the health benefit remains the top reason Chinese consumers drink imported wine," writes Natasha Rastegar.

The analyst adds that wine has the potential to target the health-conscious market in new ways, such as through alcohol-free wines and tea-infused blends.

So when you next buy wine online, it's worth remembering that in some countries simply 'drinking less' might be seen as an unhealthy change - and it could be time to revise your Resolutions ready for the Year of the Sheep.
