Time for spring cleaning at your independent wine merchants

With the first month of the year out of the way - and many people's first pay cheque since Christmas going into the bank too - it's well worth a visit to your local independent wine merchant to see what's on offer.

Christmas and the New Year is always a busy time as more people buy wine for festive celebrations than at any other time of year, and once things have calmed down, it's time to take stock - quite literally.

This means your local independent wine merchant will be looking at what's left from their Christmas deliveries, and where there are only a few bottles left, you may be able to find a bargain.

We have plenty on offer over the coming days as we spring clean our stock - so please feel free to head down to your local shop and ask about any discounts or other promotions to make your New Year pay cheque stretch even further.

Alternatively, if you prefer to buy wine online, you can see some of our best prices on the homepage, as well as some of our best sellers.

Orders over £50 qualify for free delivery, so why not treat yourself to a full case of your favourite tipple - perhaps as a treat for making it through Dry January without cheating?

Finally, if you fancy a change from wine after one too many dinner parties over the Christmas period, we have plenty of alternatives to choose from.

These include beer from the Bollington Brewing Co in Cheshire, and Red Willow Brewery in Macclesfield - both local favourites that are well worth a try.

Or for something stronger, our spirits selection includes vodka, gin, rum, malt whisky and bourbon, with Chase flavoured vodkas if you want something fruity or a little sweeter on your palate.
