Come and say hi to our wine merchants this Easter

It's a busy time of year for our independent wine merchants, with Mother's Day, St Patrick's Day and Easter in quick succession, and many people getting back into the wine-buying habit after taking a break in the new year.

We're always happy to help, so if you have any questions about the best wines for the current season, or new arrivals in your local wine merchants, please feel free to pop in and ask in person.

You can find details of all of our locations on our Stores page, which should help you to find a shop near you, or close to where you'll be at some point in the coming weeks.

One location you might particularly want to visit is our Alderley Edge store, found right at the heart of the village on London Road.

Follow the store's own Twitter account @PortlandWineAE for the latest offers and gift ideas, or to see what's new in stock before you head to the shop in person.

When you're ready, head to Alderley Edge and we'll be ready to help you face to face, whatever you need.

The village of Alderley Edge is well worth a day trip in its own right, with quirky independent retailers of sweets and snacks that go perfectly with a glass of fine wine.

It takes its name from The Edge, a sandstone ridge within walking distance of the village, which is open to public access and looked after by the National Trust.

While you're in the area, consider a visit to the Wizard, a rock carving of a wizard's face by Robert Garner in around 1840.

A century later, Alan Garner, Robert's great-great-grandson, would also be inspired by the mythology of Alderley Edge, where he lived, and subsequently wrote several fantasy novels based on the local legends.
