Champagne hits the shelves for bubbly Jubilee

If you're looking to buy wine ahead of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations next weekend, why not treat yourself to a bottle or two of champagne?

Few sounds are more closely associated with celebrating than the pop of a cork - and champagne is already well-placed to help people nationwide to toast the Queen's 60th year on the throne.

Moet & Chandon, one of the most recognisable brands in the sparkling wine segment, have launched a special edition of their champagne simply called The Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

But there are plenty of existing bottles that are equally worthy of being popped over the course of the long weekend.

If you're planning a street party and want to make sure everybody has a glass to toast Her Majesty with, look out for wine offers that you might not normally be able to take advantage of.

For instance, many wine deals depend on buying in bulk - something you might not normally do, but which becomes a possibility when a few households are joining together for a street party.

Ask at your local wine shop about glassware, too, as many will loan you the glasses on the condition that you pay for any breakages, or may be able to supply glasses as part of their bulk-buy wine deals.
