Buy wine to help your BBQ go with a bang!

The bank holiday weekend may have been a washout for many of us, but temperatures are on the up and there's a second chance at a long weekend at the end of May - all of which makes it the perfect excuse to buy wine that promises a bit more of a bang.

First of all, don't miss out on our great offer on Marcel Guigal's Cotes du Rhone Blanc - regular readers of our news pages will recognise the name.

Back in the autumn we suggested Marcel Guigal's Cote Rotie La Turque as an excellent Halloween option, dark and red with smoky scents, and if you enjoyed that then you'll love the white Cotes du Rhone for the warmer weather.

To really celebrate in style with your friends and family, buy wine with some fizz to it - whether you choose a cheaper sparkling wine or really splash out on a 'proper' champagne.

We have Roederer Brut Premier at a great price, and it's perfect for the time of year, with a blend of pinot noir, pinot meunier and chardonnay grapes, plus the burst of bubbles you'd expect from champagne.

Roederer make great sparkling wines, and this non-vintage bottle will rival some of the best in the world, with citrus aspects to the taste that, again, are perfectly refreshing for the season.

Finally, if you want one bottle that will serve everyone with a glass or two, and will add a touch of theatre to your party too, you can't go wrong with a magnum.

The theatrical visual effect of a double-sized bottle is just the start - once you pop the cork, you've got nearly a litre and a half of some of the world's best-loved champagne to share amongst you.

Most labels offer a magnum, but if you want to play it safe, we have familiar brands including Veuve Clicquot and Moet & Chandon - top quality and real crowd pleasers too.
