A Vodka Revolution

Vodka is going the way of many other spirits with boutique producers selling their wares from all over the world. Here, we pick out some of the more unusual choices from our range.

Skyy Vodka - Founded in 1992 in San Francisco, Skyy has quickly become one of the hottest brands in the U.S. Their production process is innovative; their vodka is quadruple distilled and triple filtered, leading to an incredibly smooth character. Perfect for use in cocktails due to its' clean, smooth quality. Oh and the bright cobalt blue bottle looks fab on the sideboard! £24.95

Mamont Siberian Vodka - Produced at one of the oldest distilleries in Russia, this is the real deal. Distilled six times from white winter wheat, the resulting spirit is then blended with water from underneath the Altai mountains, famed for its' purity and then filtered through Silver Birch charcoal. Great to sip on its own (with plenty of ice) but this makes a superb G&T! £31.95

Ciroc Vodka - This is slightly unusual - instead of being made from grain, this vodka is produced by 5 time distillation of frozen french grapes, at a distillery in South Western France. This gives Ciroc a different take on vodka, and imparts a fresh, smooth taste. Championed by the jet-set and Sean "P-Diddy" Combs no less, Ciroc sets itself as an ultra premium vodka. £39.95

Kauffman Selected Vintage Vodka - An aspirational vodka, produced to sit alongside the world's finest whiskies and cogancs. The very limited production is tightly controlled by the master distiller and is done with the finest wheat from a single harvest of Russia's best wheat producing areas. The unusual packaging of this product is a tribute to 21st Century Russia. This is crisp and refined, with more depth than you might usually attribute to vodka. £84.95

Roberto Cavalli Vodka - As you might expect, this is produced in Italy from the finest selection of wheat cultivated in the valleys where the South-Western Alps meet the Po. This softer type of wheat leads to a purer and smoother form of alcohol once distilled. A clean tasting vodka with just a hint of citrus and a slightly creamy finish. £55.00

Uluvka Polish Vodka - Distilled in small batches, using the finest Polish wheat, barley and rye. This has roots back to the Polish Royal court in the 17th Century. It has recently undergone a transformation however and has won Best Super Premium Vodka in the World 5 times. £40.00

Crystal Head

Crystal Head Vodka - This one has started many a conversation in our stores, just for the bottle alone! Produced in Newfoundland with extremely pure water, which is blended with "peaches 'n' cream" corn before being distilled and filtered multiple times. The final stage is when the spirit is passed three times through Herkimer diamonds, spiritually charged semi-precious quartz crystals. This is additive and sugar free, so is totally pure. Founded by Dan Ackroyd the Canadian actor, alongside artist (and bottle creator) John Alexander, Crystal Head is becoming something of a phenomenon. £62.00

The above vodkas are available in all of our stores, alongside many more. We hope we've tempted you to try something slightly different!
