Produced, like the majority of Barolos, from three Nebbiolo sub-varieties, the Michet, Lampi and Rose, the majority of grapes are harvested from their own vineyards around La Morra. Fermentation takes around 15 days at a high temperature of around 27 degrees.

From Northern Italy this Barbera is medium weight with ripe fruit flavours. Aromas of black fruits with broad cherry flavours on the palate with a backdrop of crisp balancing acidity.

Pio Cesare Barbera has an intense ruby colour with garnet reflections. The bouquet is distinguished and vital, with fresh, ripe fruit. The palate is clear and definite, with hints of ripe pulpy fruit, cherry, and notes of chocolate, frame with a long and pleasant finish
